About JCB & Sons
Building a home or restoring one should feel like building a legacy.
But for many homeowners, the process brings more stress than satisfaction. Poor communication, hidden costs, or work that doesn’t last, it’s hard to know who to trust with what matters most.
We walk with our clients through every stage of the journey, with honest advice, detailed plans, and clear pricing. We don’t cut corners. We don’t guess. We simply do the job right, the first time. Our motto, “Where quality is built and our reputation is building,” isn’t just a line, it’s how we operate. From custom homes and thoughtful renovations to commercial and agricultural builds, we combine high standards, creative design, and top-tier materials to exceed both the Ontario Building Code and your expectations.
Let’s make your house a home again and build something that lasts.
At JCB & Sons, we believe homes should be built with integrity, not shortcuts. Founded in 1988 by John and Carol Ann Bender, our business has always been rooted in faith, family, and craftsmanship. In 2006, their son Christian, a Licensed General Carpenter raised in the trade, took over the company. His hands-on leadership brings together old-world skill, fresh creativity, and a commitment to building with purpose. Every project still reflects what we were raised to believe: quality matters, your word matters, and how you build something is just as important as what you build.
Proudly serving our community since 1988!

Meet Christian Bender
Passionate Carpenter and Community Builder
Red Seal Certified Licensed Carpenter; Schluter -Systems Workshop Completed
He is a licensed general carpenter with a rich background in the field, having started his journey as an apprentice under his father. From an early age, he accompanied him on various job sites, gaining hands-on experience and insight into the trade. This early exposure ignited his passion for carpentry.
In addition to his apprenticeship, he has continually invested in his personal and professional development. He dedicated time to researching techniques and best practices, allowing him to hone his skills and stay current in the field. His commitment to craftsmanship and lifelong learning has equipped him with a solid foundation to excel in carpentry.
He is a licensed carpenter because it allows him to transform clients' visions into reality through his work on renovations and construction projects. The interaction with clients fuels his passion, as he takes pride in understanding their needs and delivering high-quality craftsmanship. His motivation comes from the continuous growth in his skills and the satisfaction of knowing that he is protecting his craft while creating spaces that people truly enjoy.
For him, belonging to the West Grey Area means cherishing deep roots in a small community where his grandparents once settled, fostering connections with amazing people, and creating a loving environment to raise his children. It symbolizes a rich legacy and a sense of belonging that shapes his identity and family values.
