Garage Preparation for a New 24’ x 36’ Build – West Grey, Ontario

This week, we began site prep for a new 24’ x 36’ garage in West Grey. As the builder and general contractor on the project, we brought in Grey Bruce Construction to handle excavation and foundation prep. The first step was relocating the existing 14’ x 24’ garage (pictured here) to clear the site for the new build.

The project is located between Durham and Hanover—an area where we frequently take on garage builds, additions, and full home renovations. Exterior Renovation – Historic Building in Durham, Ontario

JCB & SONS completed a full exterior renovation of this historic triple-brick carriage house on Garafraxa Street in Durham, Ontario. Once neglected and structurally weathered, the building was restored for new commercial use under the direction of an investor who hired us to modernize and secure the envelope without losing its heritage feel.

We installed vertical steel siding across the exterior and finished the front façade with Fusion Stone to enhance both curb appeal and durability. This project is one of many we’ve completed across West Grey, Hanover, and Markdale—where we specialize in exterior renovations, licensed carpentry, and general contracting for commercial and residential clients alike.

Steel Siding Installation – Commercial Project in West Grey

JCB & SONS completed a steel siding installation on an investment property in West Grey. The project involved finishing the building exterior with vertical steel panels—chosen for their durability, clean appearance, and low maintenance. Here is a photo the our new scaffolding set up and ready to start installing the

new steel trims. We actually ended up shimming this West wall out 6" in places

to make it plumb and straight for the new siding.

The South wall is ready for windows and trims. The Patio Door on the right

side of the South wall will be being removed and a window will be installed

there too.

We install the new Strassburger windows on the North Wall. It's now ready for trims and siding.
